Scott Darnell – Partner, Licensed Private Investigator
Scott Darnell attended the University of Wisconsin-Madison and received an Associate of Arts degree in Police Science from Madison (WI) Area Technical College. While attending school Scott worked as police/fire dispatcher while serving in the Wisconsin Air National Guard as a Security Specialist. Scott received security training from the U.S. Air Force as a Security Policeman. Scott has 16 years of experience in law enforcement in investigating all forms of offenses from agencies in Wisconsin and Florida. Scott Darnell served as a Tactical Response Team member and received specialized tactical driving and weapons training while working in Wisconsin. During this time he worked in assignments in patrol and investigations.
In Tallahassee, Scott worked as an investigator in the Burglary Unit, Sex Crimes Unit, and then the Homicide / Assault Unit. Scott Darnell has expertise in crime scene management, evidence recovery, interviews of witnesses, interrogations of suspects, use of informants, surveillance, and court procedures.
Scott Darnell has worked thousands of criminal cases and hundreds of violent crime cases dealing with murder, attempted murder, suicide, battery/aggravated battery, assault/aggravated assault, domestic violence, violation of restraining order/injunction, kidnapping , stalking, elder abuse, bomb threats, accidental deaths (worksite, drowning), officer involved shootings, and officer involved deaths, armed and unarmed robberies, home invasions, carjacking, sexual batteries, lewd and lascivious acts, incest, indecent exposures, voyeurism, child abuse or neglect, parental kidnapping, child pornography, obscene or harassing telephone calls, all missing persons (juvenile and adult), burglaries (commercial, residential, automobile), recovered stolen property investigations, theft, counterfeiting, and con games.
Scott Darnell has received specialized training in investigating all forms of death investigations, sexual offenses, pedophile investigations, child abuse and neglect, kinesic interviews, Reid System interview and interrogation techniques, along with other specialized training.
All of this experience has assisted in investigating over 150 criminal defense cases and ensuring the client’s case is thoroughly investigated from an objective point of view. Scott excels at reviewing police reports and police procedures to assist area law firms with defending their clients’ case. Donna Brown– Partner, Licensed Private Investigator
Donna Brown holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Criminology from Florida State University and retired after 26 years in law enforcement, all with the same large municipal police department. Her career was based on honesty, integrity, quality customer service and a passion for her work. Donna held the rank of sergeant for 20 years in which high profile/high liability cases were the bulk of her workload. She worked in criminal investigations for 15 years, 10 of which she supervised the Homicide Unit. Donna supervised over 560 death investigations, 75 of which were homicides. Her area of expertise is in managing major case investigations with an emphasis on case review, trial preparation and managing crime scenes. She has attended a multitude of advanced, specialized training courses involving homicide investigations, sexual battery investigations, child abuse investigations, domestic violence, stalking, interviews and interrogations, crime scene procedures and managing major case investigations.

Todd McCurdy– Partner, Licensed Private Investigator
Todd McCurdy has 16 years of investigative experience. The majority of his investigative experience was earned working in the homicide division. During this period, Mr. McCurdy investigated thousands of cases, including over 50 homicides and hundreds of deaths, officer involved shootings and missing persons cases. Other types of cases investigated include financial crimes, burglary, fraud, sex crimes, bombings, theft, and child abuse. Mr. McCurdy is also experienced in Medicaid fraud and patient abuse/neglect/exploitation cases. One of Mr. McCurdy’s specialties is investigating and solving cold homicide cases.
Mr. McCurdy has worked both short and long term cases as well as multi-agency / multi-jurisdictional cases. He has worked in unison with local, state, federal and international agencies over the years. Close working relationships with prosecuting attorneys in preparation for trial in both the state and federal level has resulted in numerous depositions and trial presentations in civil, criminal and grand jury. Mr. McCurdy has been involved in many task forces with local, state, and federal agencies including the U.S. Marshals. Mr. McCurdy was also a member of the International Homicide Investigators Association.
In addition to earning a bachelors degree in economics, Mr. McCurdy has attended numerous training courses in investigation, interviewing, as well as crime scene/forensics. All of this training coupled with many years of hands on experience makes Mr. McCurdy very well equipped to handle all of your investigative needs.
